From July 2022 until he left the ABC in December 2023 Nicole appeared as a guest each fortnight on Afternoons with Josh Szeps on Radio Sydney in a segment called ‘Between the Covers’.

They discussed her favourite books in different categories – tearjerkers, funny books, memoirs, books about books, books by Indigenous writers.
